Cookie Policy
Last updated: 01-01-2025
This cookie policy explains what cookies are and how SnapSale uses them.
This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on our website. We believe it is important that you know what data we collect, for what purpose, and how you can control it.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit our website. Additionally, we use localStorage, a technology that stores data in your browser without placing cookies.
What types of cookies do we use?
We only use the categories necessary for the functioning and improvement of our website:
1. Functional cookies (required)
These cookies are necessary for the website to function. Without these cookies, our site will not work properly.
Examples:
- Session cookie to support logged-in sessions
- Form functionality
- Secure access to account or dashboard
2. Analytical cookies (cookieless – legitimate interest)
We use PostHog to gain insight into the use of our website.
We have configured PostHog in a privacy-friendly, cookieless configuration:
- no tracking cookies are placed;
- data is stored exclusively in localStorage;
- IP addresses are anonymized;
- data remains within the European Economic Area (EEA);
- data is not traceable to individual visitors.
This processing falls under our legitimate interest to improve our website, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Cookies and storage in use
| Name | Purpose | Storage duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
session (server-side) |
Maintains the user session so that the website functions correctly (e.g., login). | Until end of browser session | Functional (required) |
ph_<project>_* (PostHog localStorage) |
Tracks anonymous page visits and navigation for website improvement. | Max. 1 year (localStorage) | Analytical (cookieless) |
The exact names of PostHog keys vary per project configuration (e.g., ph_<projectID>_posthog).
Consent
Because we use PostHog in cookieless, privacy-friendly mode and do not use third-party trackers, no cookie banner is required.
Should usage change in the future (for example, by adding marketing cookies), we will update this policy and request appropriate consent.
Managing cookies
You can manage cookies and localStorage via your browser settings.
Disabling cookies may cause parts of the website to not function properly.
